Treatment of acne is guided by the presenting lesion types and overall severity.

For acne treatment we aim to treat the underlying causes including:

1. Abnormal keratinisation of the pilosebaceous opening

2. Increased sebum production by the sebaceous glands

3. Colonization of C.acnes bacteria

4. Inflammation

5. Occasional hormonal imbalances triggering above changes
